 Galleray: P.O.P in Progress
(Gallery Images in upper left hand corners)

Gold Wars
Galleray x Geoffrey Mac
Geoffrey Mac presents an unprecedented and highly experimental silicone and resin jewelry collection, mixing 3D printing with hand sculpting and casting. Inspiration for the line comes from the connect of dismantling guns, missiles and other weapons. A mix of 20's Art Deco and 80's Tech, it draws o science fiction films as well as the architecture in Fritz Lang's classic silent film Metropolis. Inspiration images are all about the glamorization of sci-fi and the gold female depiction of the famously male character of Darth Vader.

[Iconography #7] Rags to Riches
Luke Haynes
This piece is constructed from reclaimed Textiles. I took Clothes and sheets discarded from the people of NY and created this quilt. The quilt is an image of both Kanye and JAy-z. I used an Image by Troy Gua for the design. The colors are White: Sheets Blue: Jeans Black: Dress Clothes It then reads like a rags to riches story. It has been quilted in metallic thread. The inspiration for Rags to Riches is non other than Kanye and Jay Z who are famously known for building wealth from their musical talents.

 Cleverage
JKB Fletcher
Cleverage, affectionately known as 'Superboobs' Is the corner stone painting of 'Dirty Faces'. Even though it was the third in the series to be painted it resembles the idea behind the works with such an impact it's often the first to mind when reflecting on the 'Dirty Faces' collection. The work was created for a solo show at FortyFive Downstairs in 2011, entitled 'Angels with Dirty Faces. Superheros are the heart of the American culture they are the sentuality of our minds and imaginations. Placing the Superman sign on the most sensual part of the woman's body just enforces that. The inspiration photos are sensuality and the strength and passion behind the female figure and Superman himself.

Trend: Today’s Youth

Trend: Today’s Youth

Who are we are and where we want to go. With digital technology, the world is at our fingertips. We want to be entrepreneurs and social experts. We are all photographers, writers and bloggers. More and more of us are learning about each other across the globe and want to travel, eat exotic foods and learn from each other’s cultures. Some of us are even mixing interracially with each other. We are mixing old ideas with new ones and are more conscious of each other and our planet. We document our observations and we aren't afraid to express ourselves. There is a lack of animosity that existed in our youth of the past. But we are still fighting for change and improvements in our world. Not all of us are on board with this yet but as our world keeps changing we will soon be on the same page.

Trend: Conform and Rebel; Push and Pull

Conform and Rebel; Push and Pull

Just like black and white, todays trends and social practices are opposing one another, but in a cool way! We want to be classy but yet we're rebelling hence the sans pants, rappers in suits, and mixing lady like pieces along with edgy accessories. It's an awesome thing thats happening and its brining along with it some really cool trends Rihanna was spotted wearing classic strap sandals with baggy sweats with edgy accessories. And international celebrities like Kwon Ji Young (South Korea) are instagraming his signature wacky mix of edge and classics of Balenciaga, Boy London and Chanel. Youthful songs filled with lyrics like "Tonight we are young", "Live while we are young", "You only live once", whether a positive message or not is greatly effecting the attitudes towards life and how young adults choose to express their style. Todays youth are reinventing what it means to be a la mode and that there is a time to be classy, a time to rebel and a time to marry the two!

Prada Trend Spring 2013

Prada Trend Spring 2013

This Spring, Prada showcased a burst of Japanese inspired collection that is inevitably going to bring back origami and Kimono inspired silhouettes and bold red accents. Silk dresses and skirts with cross over panels graced Prada's runway this Spring. Already in stores like Zara Asian inspired designs are becoming a big hit. Another trend, flat-form shoes, inspired by the traditional wooden sandals, are already beginning to fill up the shelves. The blacks soft pinks and greens with a touch of red are a great  alternative to the typical pastel color pallet of Springtime. And with Japanese cherry blossom inspired details this Spring is going to be bursting with oriental ambiance.
